This role is an excellent opportunity to join us as a Regional Transportation & Logistics Manager for our

Clean Air & Powertrain business groups of Tenneco’s EMEA region.

 

Responsibilities

 

In this role, you will be responsible for the EMEA Clean Air and Powertrain Transportation operations & spend. You will also provide strategic direction and daily tactical support to ensure compliance with internal & external policies, year-on-year cost improvement, and support AOP.

In year 1: In taking the lead over Clean Air and Powertrain business groups, there is a need to:
-Review and, where necessary, reorganize the team to efficiently manage and support all plants in CA&PT EMEA.
-Foster relationships within the team to identify as One Team to support both business units
-Improve the reporting capabilities in the region to be able to provide accurate data related to spending, mode, plant, etc

 

Key Objectives
-Continually driving excellence within the Transportation team to improve the cost base for both business units, leveraging the network and wider Enterprise to identify opportunities and mitigate negative headwinds.
-Initiate and guide the team to identify TVM cost-saving projects to support the AOP
-Support the deployment and development of systems to support the business; (as of 2022) Freight Payment System - EnVista, Transport Management system – Siemens (AX4), Global reporting – Power BI
-Support regional RFQs and Global Enterprise-wide RFQs to achieve the best tariffs continually
-Manage data accurately to have a full view on lane rates, utilization, and support data requirements for the Tenneco Sustainability program
-Liaise and collaborate with colleagues from different regions and Business Units to provide support as and when needed
-Review new approaches; Hub strategy, cross-docking, buyers console, etc
-Communicate regularly with Trade & Customs Compliance team to ensure shipments are following correct guidelines and any savings opportunities are leveraged accordingly
-Review best practices from other regions/ business units and align processes accordingly
-Focus on succession planning and team development, identify talent in; other divisions, plants, or interns/ university students

 

Management of Tools & Systems

-Siemens AX4 tool, covering all modes of transport in all areas of EMEA
-Freight Payment system EnVista, ensure accuracy of data, drive improvements through EDI connection, additional data capture, where needed for further or future requirements
-Use of Power BI to present data and opportunities to management leveraging TMS and FPS tools to simplify data gathering
-Data capture and reporting for the Tenneco sustainability program
-Collaborate with Enterprises and other regions to maintain global standardization of processes, systems, and tools.
-Use the Tenneco HR system (Aspire. Cornerstone etc.) to create development plans for team members to create continuity and succession planning within the team
 
Education/Certification/Work Experience Requirements

 

Education/ Experience

-BA/HND Degree in a related field or sufficient Tenneco experience to fulfill the role
-English skills are indispensable, as well as experience in working with Microsoft Office programs
-Strong knowledge of the market, including supplier base, general industry information, and cost drivers
-Negotiation and convincing capabilities, as well as analytical, conceptual, and consultative sales skills
-Strong Communication & Presentation skills
-Ability to strategically influence both internal and external stakeholders
-Team player attitude is highly expected
-Dynamic Leader with experience in a matrix organization
 
Work Experience:

-Minimum 5 years experience in transport materials & logistics management
-Exposure to plant operations and manufacturing 5+ years
-Professional understanding of financial requirements impacting material logistics & purchasing
-Experience in Transportation management and logistics services
 
Major/Key Accountabilities:

-Achieve Annual Operating Plan objectives & TVM cost-saving commitments
-Partner with functional leaders in Operations, Supply Chain, Safety, Quality, and other partners to grow Tenneco's business profitably, ensuring all synergies with Enterprise are exploited to the maximum, including sharing appropriate resources and assets.

 

Key Performance Measures:

-Performance to AOP (Annual Operating Plan) for transport & IMS
-TVM generation cost management
-TMS Siemens AX4 deployment and development
-Team talent/skills development
-Power BI report to monitor month over month spend trends and performance
