Our Advanced Suspension Technologies Business is looking for a NTI (New Technology Introduction) Engineer to join our team in St-Truiden, Belgium.

 

The NTI Engineer has a solid knowledge in his technical field. He is responsible for the development of damping systems and components (hydraulic and/or electro-hydraulic) for suspension systems. These development projects, driven by external or internal customers, can be new developments, cost reductions, standardization etc. He can act as a team member in larger projects or lead small projects independently. The NTI Engineer also acts as a consultant within his technical field.

 

Job Responsibilities:

The NTI Engineering will be an integral part of NTI project team. The goal of the NTI projects is to develop and introduce new advance suspensions systems or improving existing technologies. The NTI project team consist of team members from engineering, product management, purchasing and manufacturing engineering.

 

As such the NTI Engineer has to be able to:

  • Work both independently on tasks in the project, but also together with the cross functional project team members
  • Steer and guide technicians, CAD designers and mechanics
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team (Design for Manufacturing/ Design for Assembly) during design development, process development and production phases.
  • Write development reports, design guidelines, technical specifications and other documents as part of the development process
  • Present status of the project or sub-projects to broader engineering team and NTI project team
  • Create a timeline with milestones for the project
  • Maintain action register and follow up that the assigned tasks get completed per the agreed timing

 

The NTI Engineer will work with developing some of the most advanced and high-end suspensions systems. This requires an openness to find new and innovative ideas and solutions. The NTI teams are smaller teams where each team member is required to be able to handle a wide variety of tasks and challenges.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferable in automotive engineering
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Experience with product design and development
  • Good knowledge of MS office applications
  • Fluent in English
  • Travel required by this position is maximum 10%
