  • Identify and implement strategies that will support region and customer objectives.
  • Identify training/development needs of the team to be successful and take appropriate steps to address these needs.
  • Determine whether appropriate resources are available to support the stated goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the business planning process to ensure consistency between the commercial goals and the technical direction.
  • Partner with Sales Controlling on developing and monitoring performance measures, including revenue, new business growth, pricing/ inflation recovery and profitability and implement strategies to meet these performance measures.
  • Provide resources for implementation and evaluation of purchasing and customer cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support development of a vision/direction for the future, consistent with the overall corporate business objectives and goals.
  • Provide input to the Technology and Manufacturing groups to enable them to focus their resources to develop marketable projects.
  • Develop relationships with executive purchasing and engineering levels at strategic customers.
  • Promote development of team to achieve individual career goals, leading to employee motivation and overall success of team.
  • Benchmark opportunities with Directors within other Tenneco business groups to exchange ideas and expertise and develop system solutions to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop business practices to be used by the group personnel, consistent with quality requirements.
  • Review formally at least twice a year the performance of the group with upper management as well as the group itself.
