RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and generate accurate and complete MRP data through process evaluation, product knowledge and problem identification/correction.
  • Responsible for investigating, analyzing and implementing process improvements to meet planned run at rates / standard costs
  • Responsible for calculating KANBAN levels for diverse operations
  • Responsible for PFMEAs, process validation
  • Responsible for developing and/or modifying products and completing 089 form accurately
  • Actively participate on/or lead Kaizen teams for process improvements
  • Uses Lean Manufacturing techniques (5s, SMED, Poke-Yoke) for continual improvement
  • Develops process flow charts
  • Responsible for justification and procurement process of capital equipment
  • Responsible for coordinating continual improvement projects
  • Participates in Strategic Planning (1-year view)
  • Participates in APQP / Corrective Actions / MRB (material review board)
  • Responsible for training the Training Coordinators and production technicians on process changes including modifications on existing equipment or   new equipment.
  • Responsible for error proofing
  • Assists in transfers of new products and processes to production in compliance with all State and Federal Safety and Environmental laws.
  • Develops routers; BOMs; Work instructions; procedures and plant layouts
  • Pursue opportunities for cost reduction and profit improvement.
  • Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY AND AUTHORITY LEVEL: 

  • Accountable for Adherence to the Zero Tolerance policy and practice of refusing to tolerate or allow behavior defined by Tenneco as unacceptable in terms of safety (e.g. "unsafe behavior" meaning behavior that could lead to occupational injury or illness to a plant employee, contractor or visitor).
  • Accountable for complying with Environmental Health & Safety Rules and Regulations. 
  • Must be able to understand what hazards are associated with his/her position and how to minimize them. All accidents/injuries no matter how slight must be reported to any member of management, and/or Environmental Health & Safety Manager as soon as possible.   Will be required to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Accountable for abiding by the El Paso's EH&S policy endorsed by the local management, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established under its EHSMS
  • AUTHORITY to Stop and shutdown unsafe machine operation; unsafe behaviors; and unsafe conditions.  This includes but not limited to any activity that does not conform to the EHS policy or may injure Tenneco employees, visitors, contractors.
  • Will work towards achieving established objectives, targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

EDUCATION:

 

B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or a degree in related field is required

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Experience and Competencies required.

  • Experience with cellular manufacturing and work teams required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of project management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical drawing experience and CAD experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in machine/production line integration within budgetary/time constraints.
  • Knowledge of ergonomics.
  • One or more years of experience in a textile manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in the core tools (APQP Processes as well as Process and Design FMEA's, MSA, SPC, PPAP)
  • Automotive experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Knowledge Manufacturing execution system a plus
