Tenneco is looking for a Quality Manager for Cambridge, Ohio plant.  The Quality Manager is responsible for analyzing engineering specifications and monitoring operational processes to develop and install quality control methods, practices and procedures for the Cambridge plant. This position will manage the Quality Management System from inception to production launch and throughout production cycle according to IATF 16949 and Tenneco quality standards for all processes, including stamping and assembly.  The Quality Manager will ensure system performance is evaluated, and areas needing improvement, from the receipt of raw material to shipment of product to the customer, are identified and addressed.  The incumbent should have a commitment to excellence, be a good trainer and communicator.  Strong leadership skills are necessary. The Quality Manager is responsible for managing the organization’s customer focus and response to customer related quality issues and subsequent internal corrective actions.  This position will supervise exempt and non-exempt employees..

  • Select, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.
  • Allocate personnel and financial resources wihtin area to achieve plant and divisional goals and objectives. 
  • Act as a liasion between ceramic development and the plant to bring laboratory developments into production while evaluating and engineering compliance to quality and productivity targets.
  • Determine appropriate correctgive actions and process engineering improvements to correct shortcomings in quality. 
  • Develop and maintain the plant's quality management system in compliance with ISO 9000 / IATF 16949. 
  • Produce and maintain quality manual and aid affiliate plants are required. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

EDUCATION:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramics, Engineering or Technical field or Associates Degree in a Technical field.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • At minimum: 3-5 years of relevant work experience.  
  • Union shop experience preferred. 
  • Experience using Plex Quality System modules or similar. 
  • Thorough understanding of SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Process/Product capability analysis, APQP, and customer specific requirements.
  • Six Sigma training and Customer interface experience preferred.
  • Experience with TS 16949, IATF 16949 or similar Quality Management Systems standards.
  • Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies (8D, 3x5 Why, Ishikawa, etc.).
  • Experience with 5S and LEAN techniques.
  • Must have good verbal & written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred ISO 9000 and/or IATF 16949 lead auditor. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

 

  • Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50lbs. on occasion.
  • Able and willing to work around oils/dust, moving equipment, and electrical power. 
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
