Position Summary
This position will provide engineering support to the manufacturing group and continuous improvement initiatives.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide active role in problem solving efforts on key projects to improve quality, reduce cost and/or improve cycle time and productivity.
- Identify and address safety, efficiency, and quality improvement opportunities in conjunction with manufacturing personnel.
- Modify and manage existing equipment and processes to meet customer requirements, product and production requirements.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology in continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to generate ad hoc reports.
- Support manufacturing lines to reduce scrap and improve efficiency to meet plant goals.
- Comply with requirements and assist in maintenance of the necessary quality standards (IATF16949/ISO14001).
- Ensure a safe work environment exists for all employees.
- Understand and follow all EHS policies.
- Stop work activities that create EHS hazards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Engineering diploma or degree with min 3 years of engineering related experience in automotive manufacturing environment
- Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing familiarity preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills
- Good understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes (tube forming, welding, bending, assembling)
