Purchasing Intern

The Intern joining the DRiV EMEA Purchasing team will support and drive the purchasing strategy of defined Purchased parts commodities and provide DRiV Motorparts business unit in Europe with the required products and services, at the best quality, cost and delivery. 

Main Responsibilities

• Support global cost optimization programs with focus on cost of goods approaches, quality and supply chain optimizations, complexity reductions, international synergies & re-sourcing initiatives.

• Offers support in analyzing quotations and negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.

• Coordinates quality, engineering and price changes between Company components and suppliers.

• Helps to develop new suppliers when new material/component needs are necessary for new business.

• Coordinates with Supplier Quality to ensure that new suppliers are qualified appropriately.

• Reports on monthly basis cost savings against budget to the Global Purchasing Manager

• Monitor weekly suppliers delivery performance to Tenneco Distribution Centers & Plants.

• Manages Purchasing System – SAP and be the key user for SAP - Materials Management

Education & Experience

• Bachelor degree in either Business Administration or Engineering is essential. 

• Very good experience in MS Office tools: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

• Ready for hard-working in a challenging and demanding environment

• Fluent in English language is essential.  Other European languages is advantageous

• Very good communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally

• Experience in manufacturing operations, program management or engineering advantageous.

• Must possess excellent writing, presentation and organizational skills.
