SUMMARY: The Master Production Scheduler (MPS) develops and manages the detailed plan for the manufacturing of Valve Seats and Valve Guides based on customer demand and company resources. The Master Production Scheduler (MPS) create and maintain the master production schedule, collaborate with other departments, and monitor production targets and inventory levels. The MPS further plays a leading role in the identification, development, sourcing and implementation of applicable software and other suitable applications for the optimization, development and execution of detailed manufacturing plan and the control of all inventories.

 The MSP also oversee raw material procurement and order management to ensure that customer orders and fulfilled on time and in full.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 GENERAL TASKS

·         Review and Manage Customer Orders and enter these into the ERP system (manual and EDI-based orders)

·         Review customer orders versus Annual Business Plan and identify any potential risk and opportunities.

·         Communicate these risk and opportunities on a weekly and monthly basis.

·         Maintain SAP and Access database accuracy for order tracking and material management

·         Coordinate and distribute schedules and updates across Production, Shipping, Purchasing, and Management

·         Based on customer demand forecasts and orders, translate the Sales and Operations Planning Plan into a detailed schedule of what, when and how much to produce.

·         Maintain and communicate the detailed schedule daily and report out deviations in respective Tiered level meetings.

·         Own the raw material procurement strategy for the plant, ensuring supplier performance, cost effectiveness and risk mitigation.

·         Support and participate in inventory counts, reconciliation, and audits

·         Generate and analyze reports related to sales, orderbook, and production metrics.

·         Participate in cross-functional meetings and communicate relevant updates.

·         Collaborate with leadership team on capacity planning, scenario modeling and operational readiness for new products or volumes shifts.

·         Provide the required input pertaining to the sales outlook, capacity inventory levels and for the development of the Annual Business Plan.

·         Generate regular reports on production status, inventory levels and other key performance indicators.

·         Ensure ERP system data integrity and process discipline, supporting SAP / Access planning systems, BOM updates and reporting.

·         Perform administrative and documentation tasks to support audits and compliance.

·         Ensure adherence to ISO/TS, IATF, and environmental/health/safety standards. 

RAW MATERIAL PROCUREMENT TASKS

·         Analyze inventory levels, forecast future needs and work with all stake holders to procure required raw materials.

·         Maintain vendor relationships and follow up on open POs and delivery schedules.

·         Analyze market trends and lead times; prepare market condition reports.

·         Monitor and report on inventory turns, supplier pricing, and plant spend.

·         File and maintain documentation related to the procurement process.

·         Liaise with Tenneco Corporate Commodity leads to continuously identify and develop alternative suppliers of raw materials used in the manufacturing of the Valve Seats and Guides in the operation in Waupun, WI.

 PLANNING TASKS

·         Create and maintain the master production schedule for Valves seats and Valve guides.

·         Collaborate with stakeholders to convert the master production schedule into a finite schedule per machine centers within the various operational areas.

·         Adjust the master production and finite schedules to meet customer orders and demand changes.

·         Coordinate powder releases and integrate customer-defined schedules (DEFINE, portals, etc.)

·         Adjust schedules in response to equipment downtime, quality issues, or overtime

·         Assist in BOM / routing updates and integration into planning tools as needed.

·         Work with other stakeholder to conduct scenario planning and capacity reviews based on forecasts, new program introductions and the volumes contained in the Annual Business Plant

·         Available for work beyond regularly scheduled hours

·         Attendance is required

SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE

·         Collaborate with all stakeholders to identify, source, optimize and implement the most appropriate and cost-effective ERP system, spreadsheet software and scheduling tools for the full customer order conversion process.

 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree ideally in Engineering or business administration with 1-3 years of experience in production planning, master scheduling or materials management.  Proficiency with MRP / ERP systems (like SAP, Oracle etc.), Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools is crucial. Familiarity with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes is also an asset.
