To provide assistance and guidance with the entire human resources activity, ranging from recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, health & safety, training and development, and governmental compliance activities.

 

  • Assist HR Manager in the areas of recruitment, talent development, regulatory compliance, and employee relations, maintaining and ensuring adherence to Human Resources and plant standards as well as state, federal, and Tenneco regulations.
  • Develop and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. While ensuring that company policies and programs are effectively made known.
  • Partners with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
  • Establishes competency matrix and training strategies that align with a wage structure.
  • Administration of hourly weekly payroll including, but not limited to KRONOS Timekeeping system, wage garnishments, deductions, reimbursements, adjustments, payroll processing, and recordkeeping of applicable payroll reports and auditing procedures.
  • Administer employee payroll related information within ADP HRIS system.
  • Maintain employee personnel records including payroll, training, discipline, benefits, and medical files.
  • Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Monitors and advises supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company.
  • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations. Minimizes risk
  • Administer employee benefits including new hire benefits orientations.
  • Processes administration of FMLA, Short Term Disability and Long-Term Disability claims, Unemployment claims, and attendance programs and policies.
  • Process hourly recruitment and staffing including internal job bids as well as external recruitment.
  • Assists in recruiting, screening, and interviewing candidates for hourly, entry level and professional openings.
  • Complete reports for HR and management as requested on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Lead by example, practicing safe work habits, enforcing safety policies and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct exit interviews.
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer- employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation. Conducts periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement.
  • Manages employee communication and feedback through such avenues as suggestions programs, meetings, and employee satisfaction surveys.

 

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Previous experience with SAP, SucessFactors, and payroll experience
  • Proficient in Office 365
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong HR acumen

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, sit, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop up to 30 lbs.
  • Office environment - working onsite
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment where dust, noise, odors are typical
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk in front of a computer

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years previous experience.  Manufacturing environment preferred
