SUMMARY: Obtains prepares and records data in the financial area. Coordinates and carries out the general financial accounting of the company with specific responsibilities in system compliance, cost analysis and accuracy of detail by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in training to produce a quality product / services, uses preventative measures to ensure the customer requirements and Tenneco standards are met.
- Comply with legal and other requirements to avoid injury and/or ill health to themselves and others.
- Understands preventative measures and creates a safe and healthy environment by having the ability to identify potential emergency situations and reports all incidents to supervisor/ manager.
- Adhere to the facility’s quality, environmental, health and safety policies that are identified by the Quality, Environmental Health and Safety Management systems.
- Position is responsible for performing basic professional accounting activities including posting, summarizing, reconciling, auditing, ledger maintenance, statement and/or report preparatio
- Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
- Manages accounts payable and the cash process
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Responsible for the account receivable processing in coordination with Tenneco CFS Team at corporate headquarters.
- Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset records for Tenneco Waupun.
- Responsible for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements for Tenneco Waupun.
- Responsible for monthly general ledger account reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations with other Tenneco plants.
- Manages annual physical inventory.
- Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, developing projections for future revenue and expenses
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Prepares written communications as required.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, one to two years of experience preferred with emphasis in financial accounting or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and
write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, SAP, 10Stream, and Business Systems. Ability to adapt to new software and upgrades. Must be independently motivated and a self-starter. Must have demonstrated follow-through and good analytical skills. Must be able to maintain all information in a professional and on a confidential basis.
