Manufacturing Engineer Coordinator

Primary Functions:
/Develop and coordinates department objectives with the Value Stream Manager and department Supervisors/Process Managers to improve process, tooling procedures, and equipment to meet plant and business unit objectives.
Duties Include:
Investigate and solve production problems related to tooling, equipment, and processes.
Develop, recommend, and implement changes which will result in the improvement of manufacturing processes or product quality.
Evaluate deviations from Engineering standards and follow up on communications with respect to such deviations.
*Assist Value Stream Manager in the development of capital and expense budgets.
Trouble shoots and corrects problems in production processes and tool designs.
Assists Process Engineer and production with problems associated with new products and processes.
Uses statistical techniques to solve department process and tooling problems.
Member of Product Business Unit Team as required.
Evaluates all new products for the product line and recommends their manufacturing feasibility.
Assist Sales and Application Engineers with customer contact as required.
Position has the responsibility and authority for quality commensurate with the accountabilities of the job description.
Coordinates product line Engineering functions.
Position Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field or high school diploma with 15 years manufacturing experience.
Experience:
Five (5) 5 years experience in Manufacturing or Product Engineering .
*If assigned to molding process: Minimum of five (5) years experience in molding operation (including related chemistry) or a combination of a minimum of five (5) years of formal technical education and molding (including related chemistry) experience.
Skills: *Able to plan, coordinate activity. Ability to work well with plant personnel and vendors.
