Engineering Manager

To provide Technical Engineering and project management support for the plant Engineering functions.

Develop and Manage projects and engineering functions for the plant to improve equipment, tooling, processes and procedures that align with plant and business unit objectives.

 

Duties Include:

  • Supports and coordinates all new and improved business opportunities in conjunction with Program Manager.
  • Works with customers, sales, engineering, and other plants as needed to coordinate a successful process from inquiry to shipment of production requirements in regards to process design and development.
  • Serves as Process Owner of the Quality Management System Core Process "Facilities and Equipment".
  • Works with Staff personnel in the determination of the processes, equipment, tools and methods to be used in the manufacturing of the plants products.

  • Manages the Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Engineering Technicians, as well as coordinates workload and priorities.
  • Provide coordination with Engineering/Capital projects as needed.  Responsible for budget planning/coordination and reporting on plant capital projects.
  • Provide engineering support throughout the plant as needed.
  • Responsible for the strategic engineering decisions and direction for the plant.
  • Serves as the engineering liaison between Operations and coordinator of strategy.
  • Works in conjunction with other staff personnel on continuous improvement activities and coordination, assigning and coordinating work among the engineering group
  • This position has the responsibility and authority for quality commensurate with the accountabilities of the job description.
  • Along with the rest of the management team, is responsible for communication and execution of plant objectives.
  • Responsible for oversite of all plant layout revisions.
  • Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality systems.
  • Coaches supervisors and team leaders in problem solving and performance management.
  • Interacts with all functions of a site operation (e.g. Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as required.

Position Requirements:

 

Education:  Bachelor's degree in a technical related field with a minimum of 7-10 years of manufacturing (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience) with first-hand experience in Engineering.

 

Experience:  Firsthand experience in at least 3 of the following areas:  Engineering, quality management/engineering, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, salaried supervision, financial management, human relations management, or operations management.
