Customs and Trade Compliance Analyst

Support the Supply Chain Manager with all trade compliance and transport activity including, but not limited to,  tariff classification, establishing written procedures as required under “Reasonable Care”, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

•    Proficient in standard logistics software.
•    Good analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
•    Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
•    Advanced knowledge of tariff classification, especially in manufacturing/machinery, industrial applications
•    Experience with core import / export operations such as valuation, including related parties/transfer pricing; country of origin marking; Free Trade Agreement qualification; recordkeeping; post-summary audit/corrections; process documentation; Incoterms
•    Knowledgeable in all modes of transport: air, ocean, truck, rail; including Northern and Southern border operations
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
•    Freight cost follow up; Numbers of export and import transactions; 
•    Support the business wide compliance of government regulations concerning import, export, and free trade agreements (FTA).
•    Interface with many organizations to determine and/or validate classifications, valuation, country of origin, and marking requirements, including product development, production planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, accounting, and suppliers and Oversee the time delivery of goods; maintain delivery schedules and track deliveries to ensure deliveries are met. 
•    Update and provide tracking information to customers as well as to internal managers.
•    Research customs regulations and rulings, determines regulatory or interpretive basis for each classification, and communicates with internal clients and external customs brokers.
•    Determine Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification based on applicable Rules of Origin and helps prepare FTA certifications. Maintains appropriate documentation to substantiate origin determinations.
•    Adheres and is compliant to the policies and procedures in regard to quality standards. Strives to continuously improve processes.
•    Participates in the definition of the indicators, updates and analyzes the indicators for which he is responsible in terms of animation, and participates in action plans in collaboration with the logistics coordinator and the production and customer service.
•    Ensure compliance with customer requirements.
•    To adhere and be compliant to the policies and procedures in regards to quality, security/safety and environmental standards and strive to continuously improve processes.
•    To ensure compliance with Federal-Mogul Quality and EHS policies, procedures and practices.
•    To respect the environment and act consciously of environmental responsibilities.
