This position is responsible for the execution of all programs assigned and adherence to Tenneco/DRiV program management processes.  This role will manage cross-functional teams, communicate clear deliverables and lead key gate reviews to ensure flawless execution of DRiV’s product strategy.  This position is responsible for providing organization, direction and guidance to multiple teams across the organization with the ability to navigate ambiguous problems, develop solutions and drive programs forward with minimal guidance. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures a high level of integration and collaboration as well as, alignment with the program members in Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain and Finance.
  • Ensures the effectiveness of the program team meetings and customer review meetings.  Ensures effective communication with the program team.  Acts as the central communication point for their programs.
  • Manages the program team from concept to launch.  Ensures effective and timely scope management with emphasis on customer scope changes and executes the Scope Change process and approval.
  • Verifies correct screening documents are available.  Ensures program trade off analysis – balancing cost, time, product and resources.
  • Identifies program risks early, develops and executes mitigation strategies and executes the Red Flag process.  Escalates risk with mitigation strategies to the leadership team in a timely fashion.
  • Creates high quality timing plans developed with the program team with buy in from all functional areas.
  • Meets 0 days late for all Gates.  Meets all customer MRDs on time with high quality products.
  • Ensures all program financial targets and budgets are met.
  • Ensures effective and logical financial roadmaps are executed by working with the Program Team.
  • Ensures quality objectives and roadmaps are developed and executed via their program teams.
  • Ensures sourcing on time working with Purchasing to identify high quality suppliers.
  • Ensures appropriate completion of Make versus Buy decisions.  Ensures on time PPAP of purchased components.
  • Visits critical suppliers and / or Tenneco plant at appropriate points in the program with the members of their Program Teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.          

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters’ Degree preferred; PMP certification is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the automotive industry and 8 years in Program Management. Experience in at least three key functional areas: Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Operations, or Sales. Demonstrated experience leading a cross functional team to launch. Experience launching multiple programs in multiple regions / cultures preferred. 

Skills:

  • Proven knowledge of program management methodology, tools and techniques.
  • Managed multiple product development programs through to launch with ownership of budget / cost / timing.
  • Global program experience as either a lead or member of the team.
  • Must possess (1) solid communication skills (2) ability to negotiate (3) ability to multi-task (4) solid decision-making skills.
  • Strong team player with ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent PC skills (spreadsheets, etc.) required.
  • Excellent communication skills required. Fluent in English, multiple languages a plus.
  • Functional understanding of BOM’s, MRP, QS9000 & related AIAG practices and standards.
  • Technical familiarity with a range of materials and manufacturing processes desired.
  • Ability to travel domestic and international up to 30%.
