This position will assist with the financial affairs of the organization and preparing financial analyses of operations. Assist Controller with the plant’s financial plans, controls, and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development of the Strategic Planning Process, Annual Operation Plan, Monthly Forecast, Weekly Flash and Monthly Profitability Planning and Reporting and Analysis of Actuals
- Month-end close (journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.) and financial review analysis for multiple ledgers
- Maintain reporting tools tracking key performance indicators and profitability improvement plans
- Assist with developing Capital Appropriation Requests and business cases for analysis of Return on Investment and Economic Value Add.
- Assist with managing accounting activities including billing, accounts payable (handled through shared services), payroll, capital assets, general ledger and standard costing systems and ensure that all activities are in compliance with SOX and company established policies and procedures.
- Assist with management of internal and external audit requests.
- Assist with safeguarding of all company assets including inventory and fixed assets.
- Assist with setting of standard costs including development of overhead rates.
- Support corporate requests to ensure company’s ability to comply with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Support operations/manufacturing activities to achieve production output, productivity and employee satisfaction goals.
- Position is responsible for performing basic professional accounting activities including posting, summarizing, reconciling, auditing, ledger maintenance, statement and/or report preparation.
- Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Responsible for the account receivable processing in coordination with Tenneco CFS Team at corporate headquarters.
- Responsible for monthly general ledger account reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations with other Federal-Mogul plants.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting or cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of both areas is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, macros, and mainframe-based accounting systems are required. SAP and 10Stream experience is helpful.
- Highest standards of accuracy and organization skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing/packaging/distribution processes.
- Detailed knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles with ability to interpret and utilize General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Working knowledge of Sarbanes – Oxley.
- Leadership and teamwork experience a must.
- Developed interpersonal skills with both written and oral communication necessary in this role in order to lead teams to problem-solving challenges within the department and in the automotive manufacturing setting.
