Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR Business Partner, who welcomes the chance to grow in an innovative and diversified global supplier of quality products.  This role will drive HR delivery in a manufacturing site with 300+ team members.  Qualified candidates will be independent game changers, who welcome a challenge. Responsibilities include the following:  employee relations, safety, recruitment, talent development, performance management, compensation and benefits. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Supports value stream of 300+ employees in a three shift operation.

2. Handles employee relations issues on a day-to-day basis while providing direct HR support to respective value stream, administers the employee handbook, advises supervisors in employee relation matters and responds to/investigates employee relations issues such as employee complaints.

3. Assists in recruiting, screening and interviewing applicants to fill plant, professional and technical job openings. 

4. Creates and updates job descriptions as needed.

5. Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies and procedures.  Also, makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement in day-to-day operations.

6. Assists in assuring performance appraisal processes are completed in a timely fashion.

7. Coaches and mentors supervisors and team leaders.

8. Facilitates and/or provides training to the workforce.

9. Creates and prepares HR reports as requested including, but not limited to, headcount reports.

10. Communicates and reinforces Business Objectives, as well as EHS rules and regulations.

11. Properly reports, investigates, and implements corrective actions to quality problems and safety incidents.

12. Willing and able to spend significant time on the production floor to observe and understand operational processes.

13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Desirable Education & Experience

The following experience, traits and skills are highly desirable

  1. Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.

    2. At least 5 years of progressively responsible Human Resource generalist experience, experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.

    3. Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations issues escalating to manager when necessary.

    4. Prior recruiting experience for plant, professional and technical positions.

    5. Demonstrates problem solving and ability to make decisions under supervision.

    6. Knowledge of state and federal employment laws.

    7. Experience in FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Safety and OSHA compliance.

    8. Knowledge of workers’ compensation.

    9. Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization, as well as strong presentation skills to deliver presentations and respond to questions in group settings.

    10. Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work, complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs. 

    11. Ability to establish and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

    12. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues and documents.

    13. Strong PC skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • 5+ years directly relevant experience
