We are looking for a Material Analyst to procure materials to support the upstream requirements manufacturing set production (raw material plus purchased parts). Maintain balance of inventory levels to ensure the lowest possible inventory with the highest possible fill rate. Manage large or more difficult suppliers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  1. Utilize system to analyze material requirements to support upstream demand.
  2. Place purchase orders, expedite/de-expedite order as necessary and maintain visual pull inventory.
  3. Analyze and adjust inventory levels (safety stocks; excess/obsolete material).
  4. Manage supply base (vendor performance, open order report, lead time reduction, etc.).
  5. Maintain Oracle system integrity by reviewing automates weekly audits.
  6. Support Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) initiatives (i.e. transitioning material to preferred supplier, purchase only from suppliers on Approved Supplier List (ASL)).
  7. Following the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the applicable QMS procedures.
  8. Follows EGS rules and regulations and suggests ways for continual improvement.
  9. Promptly reports quality problems, personal injuries and unsafe conditions.
  10. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  11. Perform related duties and assignments that are consistent with knowledge and training.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  2. At least 2-3 years’ experience in supply chain, purchasing, buying and planning in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and customers.
  4. Demonstrated analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work, complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs.
  5. Proven ability to learn new concepts, processes, etc. quickly and utilize them within a team.
  6. Proficient in Excel, Work, Oracle, and Access is a plus.
  7. Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  8. Knowledge of the principles of Constraint Management (Visual Pull).

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Ability to sit for extended periods (2 or more hours at a time).
  2. Closely examine images or reports.
  3. Able to interact with co-workers at all levels.
