Job Description

The FP-Diesel Industrial Engineer Intern has a critical support role in gathering information and data for the FPD engineer to use in creating dashboards, reports, and other tools for the shop floor.

For the 2024 Summer the industrial engineer intern will be working on:

  • Time studies to help update production rates that have not been updated in SAP since 2015.
  • Labor distribution between departments.
  • 5S Improvements.
  • Liner kitting line Upgrades to increase throughput and create cost savings.
  • General Wave initiatives hygiene.
  • 2167 FPD Packaging to 2169 D826 Project revitalization to improve fill rates.
  •  1-1 Bagging Automation to create improvement in overdue jobs. 

Required Skills

Skills and experience necessary for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Lean manufacturing projects.
  • 5S in an engineering setting.
  • AutoCAD experience.

Required Experience

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Information Systems or Supply Chain.
  • Excel macros and VBA experience.
  • Small warehouse optimization studies.
  • Understanding of common packaging processes, warehouse operations, and daily tasks.
