MRS - Production Supervisor

As a Production Supervisor at Tenneco Sint-Truiden, you will be at the heart of our production operations, leading a team to ensure that Monroe® OE shock absorbers are manufactured to the highest standards. You’ll manage production activities, focus on safety, quality, and efficiency, and foster continuous improvement within your team. This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone with a passion for optimizing processes and developing people.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Leadership:

    • Lead monthly safety meetings, conduct risk assessments, and ensure prompt investigations of any accidents or near misses.

    • Oversee all safety measures in your area, working proactively to eliminate hazards and create a safe working environment.

    • Analyze and address safety incidents, implementing preventative actions to avoid future occurrences.

 

  • Quality Management:

    • Ensure production meets all quality standards and specifications for Monroe® shock absorbers.

    • Lead efforts to identify and resolve any quality issues on the production line, ensuring effective corrective actions are taken.

    • Implement quality control checks and collaborate with other departments to meet quality objectives and maintain our reputation for excellence.

 

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Plan and coordinate daily production activities, ensuring that production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

    • Resolve any production issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.

    • Play a key role in new product launches, coordinating resources and troubleshooting challenges to ensure successful rollouts.

 

  • Materials & Equipment Management:

    • Manage materials and components efficiently, ensuring that production supplies are properly issued and returned.

    • Oversee equipment maintenance and improvements, ensuring that the production line operates at optimal capacity.

    • Work closely with the maintenance team and engineering departments to address any equipment issues and support new tooling requirements.

 

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives within your production area, applying continuous improvement techniques to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.

    • Set and track performance goals for your team, focusing on year-over-year improvements in efficiency and output.

    • Collaborate with the Area Manager to identify and implement process improvement opportunities that drive better performance and cost leadership.

 

  • Employee Development:

    • Develop and mentor team members, providing regular feedback and training to enhance their skills and performance.

    • Foster a collaborative and engaged team culture, encouraging open communication and teamwork.

    • Support the hiring and onboarding of new employees, ensuring they are properly integrated into the team and trained to meet production demands.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master degree from technical university

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Production and 5S principles, a strong continuous improvement mindset’

  • People management skills

  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with quality control tools, gauges, and techniques is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and interpret technical documents

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing production challenges in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with automotive production equipment such as metal bending, welding, forming, and assembly is beneficial
