Electrician
About our Location:
Our Seward, Nebraska facility is a key part of Tenneco’s Clean Air business, producing emissions control components that help power cleaner, more efficient vehicles. With over 300 employees on-site, we deliver high-quality manufacturing and support services and are committed to people, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and equipment to support production operations
- Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic mechanical systems
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to diagnose issues quickly and accurately
- Support equipment installations, machine moves, and rebuilds to ensure operational readiness
- Identify and resolve equipment failures using structured problem-solving to minimize downtime and scrap
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety requirements, including adherence to LOTO and plant policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment (5S)
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately within SAP or applicable systems
- Communicate equipment status, issues, and repairs effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams
- Adapt to changing production priorities and support multiple areas as needed
- Learn and apply new technologies, including PLCs and automation systems
- Assist in training and mentoring team members while continuing to build technical skills and certifications
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- AAS degree (or equivalent) in Electromechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and industrial equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair electrical and multi-system equipment
- 2+ years of experience or equivalent demonstrated capability preferred
- Powered Industrial Vehicle Certification or ability to obtain internal certification with 60 days of hire
- Knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and industrial equipment
- PLC troubleshooting and programming a plus
- Blueprint and schematic reading
- SAP or CMMS system experience preferred
