About The Role:
• Lead Direct & Indirect tax compliance, litigation and advisory for all business units in India.
• Assist Inda Tax Head in developing and implementing effective Tax planning and Tax optimization strategies.
• Work with regulators on policy advocacy relating to tax matters and ensure expeditious resolution.
• Proactively undertake tax optimization exercise relating to current operations and future expansions of the company.
• Stakeholder management and work with other cross-functional team members.
• Keeping business leadership abreast of various tax implications on a continuing basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Direct & Indirect tax compliance, litigation, advisory, planning and advocacy for all business units in India.
• Keeping the organization aware of the implications of various direct and indirect tax laws on business decisions.
• Stay abreast of tax legislation amendments, changes in tax regime, evaluate implications for the company, support in decision-making, communication and compliance.
• Represent the tax matters / litigation with various tax authorities
• Deal with regulatory agencies for all tax related issues.
• Develop, implement and monitor tax controls and compliance through the robust system and process orientation.
• Institutionalize a strong MIS reporting on Direct and Indirect Tax.
• Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors on tax matters.
• Keeping business leadership abreast of various tax implications.
• Internal / External Stakeholder Management with key recommendations.
• Effectively manage and mentor the taxation team.
• Ensure GST and Tax compliance related to Tax Deductions at Source (TDS) and Tax Collection at Source (TCS) including documentation control over cross-border payments.
• Manage Tax Audits and transfer pricing compliance for various transactions including intra-business payments, etc.
• Represent industry forums on Tax related issues and policy advocacy.
Job Requirements:
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), article ship must be with a renowned firm.
• Post qualification experience of 12+ years, with large business organizations/firms, focused on direct and indirect taxes.
• An expert level of knowledge and understanding of relevant tax laws, rules and Ind-AS.
• Ability to manage complex business structures.
• Strong liaison skills and relationship building capabilities with internal cross-functional
teams, tax authorities, appellate authorities and external consultants.
