The SAP Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our SAP initiatives within the SAP ERP space. This position demands a deep understanding of SAP systems and their application in automotive processes, from manufacturing to supply chain management. The SME will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP solutions, ensuring they meet the specific needs of our business. This role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between technical capabilities and business requirements, providing expert guidance and support to ensure our SAP systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the strategic planning and execution of SAP advanced support and initiatives, ensuring they align with the company’s overall business goals and objectives.
  • System Design and Implementation: Oversee the design and implementation of SAP modules, ensuring they are configured to support automotive industry standards and practices.
  • Optimization and Enhancement: Continuously evaluate and enhance SAP systems to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency. This includes identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, including manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and IT business partner teams, to understand their needs and translate them into effective SAP solutions.
  • Training and Development: Develop comprehensive training programs for end-users and provide ongoing support to ensure they can effectively utilize SAP systems.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex SAP issues, leveraging your expertise to provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest SAP developments and automotive industry trends, driving continuous improvement and innovation within our SAP landscape.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors (especially application managed services) and consultants, ensuring they deliver high-quality services and solutions that meet our business needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering/Manufacturing technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience as an SAP SME, preferably within the automotive industry. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for SAP operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of SAP modules such as SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP PP, and SAP WM.
  • Track Record: Proven track record of successful SAP implementations and optimizations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications: SAP certification(s) is a plus.
