Position Summary:

Operation Manager will be responsible for Production related activities in plant. Responsible for day-to-day production cell planning & execution. Responsible for continues improvement activities in productions. Ensure production lines are running as per targeted cycle time, quality standards & safety.Responsible for New Project and ECN Management. Handle complete Internal and Customer PPAP to meet the project timelines.Responsible for to control the operation cost e.g. Tools and Consumable, Direct Manpower cost.Responsible for capacity planning as per the new projects and customer demands. Align with the CFT and ensure the 100% delivery performance.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate with PPC for daily production planning of cells.
  • Ensure all shop floors follow Personnel and Machine Safety standards.
  • Daily interactions with customer & representatives to ensure customer is having 2 days coverage of materials
  • Monitoring & Review of Hourly / daily production of cells as per target with Team leaders & Group leaders
  • Work with various departments to resolve production 4M loss issues which affect productivity & target of cells
  • Drive continues improvements projects to achieve plant productivity, CI targets & quality targets
  • Quality focus on shop floor i.e. review daily cell level rejection, defects, and customer complaints. Drive team for proper root cause analysis & actions
  • Active participation for feasibility and risk assessment in new ECN & projects
  • Managing a team of 800 teams which includes union workman, engineers, team leaders & Group leaders
  • To handle various customer & system audits.
  • Strongly familiar with lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Able to plan & execute operational expenses as per annual operating plans.
  • Ensure shop floor will maintain/arranged as per global 5S standards
  • Technical knowledge of welding, Press components and Assembly.
  • Daily tracking and controls of Operation cost of the plant.
  • New Project launches and development
  • SMED and VSM knowledge
  • Bottleneck Management and improvements
  • Knowledge of TPM and Autonomous Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Problem-Solving tools and approach

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (DME, B.E., B. Tech etc.)
  • Minimum 18 to 20 years of experience of production in automotive Tier 1 companies.
  • Excellent communication & co- ordination skill to interact with support functions, union committee & members
  • Familiarity with drawings, APQP, PPAP & knowledge.
  • Well versed with Quality Systems such as ISO9001, IATF16949, TS16949 & customer audit like M&M MSES, VW formal Q capability etc.
  • Advanced PC skills (MS Office, Spreadsheets, ppt etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Marathi & Hindi
  • Excellent in welding process.
  • Excellent in root cause analysis techniques 8D, Fish bone diagram, why- why analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skill
  • Ability to do annual operating plan:- Capacity planning, productivity planning & operations expenses planning
