The non-SAP ERP Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our non-SAP ERP (QAD, PLEX, AS/400) initiatives within the ERP space. This position demands a deep understanding of QAD and PLEX systems and their application in automotive processes, from manufacturing to supply chain management. The SME will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of QAD/PLEX solutions, ensuring they meet the specific needs of our business. This role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between technical capabilities and business requirements, providing expert guidance and support to ensure our SAP systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the strategic planning and execution of QAD/PLEX advanced support and initiatives, ensuring they align with the company’s overall business goals and objectives.
  • System Design and Implementation: Oversee the design and implementation of QAD/PLEX modules, ensuring they are configured to support automotive industry standards and practices.
  • Optimization and Enhancement: Continuously evaluate and enhance QAD/PLEX systems to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency. This includes identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, including manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and IT business partner teams, to understand their needs and translate them into effective QAD/PLEX solutions.
  • Training and Development: Develop comprehensive training programs for end-users and provide ongoing support to ensure they can effectively utilize QAD/PLEX systems.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex SAP issues, leveraging your expertise to provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest QAD/PLEX developments and automotive industry trends, driving continuous improvement and innovation within our SAP landscape.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors (especially application managed services) and consultants, ensuring they deliver high-quality services and solutions that meet our business needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering/Manufacturing technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience as an QAD or PLEX SME, preferably within the automotive industry. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for ERP operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of QAD and/or PLEX modules such as Finance and controlling, material requirements planning, sales & distribution, production planning, and project requirements planning.
  • Track Record: Proven track record of successful QAD or PLEX implementations and optimizations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications: QAD or PLEX certification(s) is a plus.
