Dimension / Scope of The Job:
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of manufacturing operations, including powder handling, compacting, sintering, and finishing processes. This role ensures that production targets are met with high quality, cost efficiency, and strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations. The role acts as a critical link between upper management and the production floor to drive continuous improvement
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Safety Culture: Foster a zero-harm culture, ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with legal and statutory regulations, including IATF Standards.
- Production Planning: Lead production scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization to meet customer demands (often automotive).
- Process Control: Oversee sintering furnace parameters, powder metallurgy techniques, and tool/die maintenance to ensure product consistency.
- KPI Monitoring: Establish and track KPIs related to production output, yield, scrap reduction, and efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma techniques to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure uptime of sintering furnaces, presses, and related machinery, reducing downtime.
- Quality Control: Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and customer specifications for sintered parts.
- Budgeting: Manage operational budgets, including cost control for raw materials (metal powders), energy, and maintenance.
- Supply Chain: Collaborate with procurement for inventory management of raw materials.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor production supervisors, engineers, and operators.
Qualification: DME/B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering)
