EHS Manager Job Overview
As an EHS Manager, you will be Management representative for Health, Safety, Environment, Emergency Situations, you will coordinate the implementation, verification and improvement of the HSE, in accordance with corporate requirements, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards, customer requirements, legal requirements, as well as other requirements to which the organization subscribes. You will work with the entire organization, including visitors and contractors, to ensure that existing risks are adequately controlled, and the impact on the environment is minimized, to protect human health and the environment, preventing accidents and occupational illnesses, property loss and pollution.
Responsibilities of an EHS Manager:
- Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the safety, health, environment and emergency management system in the factory, in accordance with legal and other requirements.
- Participates in the development of business policy (for Health, Safety and Environment) and related procedures, as necessary.
- Verifies and approves the documentation prepared by internal departments in accordance with the requirements and regulations in force.
- Ensures that system performance reports are presented to the highest level management for management review and as a basis for continuous system improvement; follows up on resulting actions
- Conducts annual assessments/audits in accordance with company requirements, industry standards and local legislation.
- Provides independent professional advice and technical information, as appropriate, to managers and supervisors at all levels, facilitating the fulfillment of the factory's legal, general and moral obligations.
- Ensures the proper functioning of the staff training process regarding EHS policies, practices and procedures.
- Reviews and develops health policies, procedures and guidelines, in accordance with Romanian legislation, company requirements and makes recommendations regarding their implementation and application.
- Coordinates subcontracted medical services, ensuring medical control according to legal requirements.
EHS Manager Qualifications
• Higher technical education (chemistry, mechanics, electrical) - mandatory
• Higher level of training SSM/risk assessor (180h)
• Environmental Manager Certificate; Waste Management Manager.
• PSI/Civil Protection Technical Framework.
• Minimum 5 years in SSM in a multinational company
• Experience in the automotive industry of min. 1 year
• External auditor OHSAS 18001
• Internal auditor, according to ISO 19011
• Greenbelt fundamentals certification.
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Use of SAP
• Very good knowledge of English
• Exposure to industrial environment
