As an Plant Purchasing Lead, you will be responsible for supplier relationships,  according to the  portfolio, for obtaining, maintaining, improving performance, quality, safety, cost, payment terms – improving cash flow, delivery terms, covering the requirements requested by the beneficiary; Creates and maintains a formal, legal and ethical framework for all acquisitions, according to Tenneco policies and processes.

Responsibilities Plant Purchasing Lead:

  • Responsible for implementing the European and global procurement policies of the organization at the factory level.
  • Executes regional sourcing and factory level capital equipment procurement strategies aligning them with global Tenneco requirements.
  • Coordinates procurement projects in collaboration with other local or international colleagues to eliminate duplication or conflicts of activities.
  • Manages the implementation at local Tenneco Ploiesti level of procurement contracts for goods and services.
  • Identifies best practices in purchasing products and services and implements them.
  • Identifies suppliers and ensures the evaluation of their performance, depending on costs, delivery times, payment terms, flexibility.
  • Negotiates and administers goods and services contracts, including Long/Short Term Supply/Goods Agreements (LTA), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA)
  • Performs financial analyses, participates in the process of creating specifications, defines the evaluation strategy and selection criteria.
  • Is responsible for the contract management process at the factory level;

Plant Purchasing Lead Qualifications

  • Higher education, economics, engineering, law or similar.
  • MBA or other similar masters – preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in indirect procurement, capital or services role.
  • SAP R/3 Intermediate.
  • Experience in negotiating commercial contracts and resolving disputes.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an industrial, multinational environment.
  • Project management. Ability to manage projects of medium complexity.
  • Experience in working within management systems.
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Ability to communicate and act in multicultural environments.
  • Very good knowledge of English. Knowledge of a second European language is an advantage;
