  • To drive coordinate and deliver functional learning & development programs
  • Conducting needs analysis, facilitating & evaluate learning interventions to build organizational development capacity
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate internal & external training interventions and build sound relations
  • Planning, implantation, coordinating & reporting on learning and development intervention 

Induction:

  • Conducting the full HR Induction for all new employees within the business
  • Drafting, implementing, and executing until sign off, the orientation plan for new employees
  • Updating the induction slides regularly according to business changes 

 

Training Administration

  • Draft, implement, monitor, and manage a suitable Company Skills Development Strategy that will conform to the needs of the organization
  • Develop, implement, and manage a proper Skills Database in conjunction with the payroll system to ensure capturing and storing of qualifications on the system
  • Advise the employees and management on scheduled skills development interventions or workshops
  • Monitor, manage and administrate all external training as well as facilitate internal training
  • Organize training providers to match the spec of the required training Loading of the training providers on the system as vendors and updating records
  • Plan and book training interventions with the provider
  • Send calendar invites to the relevant attendees and supervisors to advise them of the training as well do follow ups and reminders
  • Establish, maintain, and develop the Company training room i.e. Training Room
  • Supplies – ensuring that all supplies to the training room is ordered and kept in a safe place.
  • Ensure training needs identified & collate Training needs analysis into WSP for the plant
  • Capture completed training with attendance registers, invoices, certificates and develop training reports
  • Submit training report for training committee as well as equity committee

 

Skills Development and Training

  • Oversee compiling training manuals for learnerships
  • Manage Succession, Mentorship plans for the plant
  • Locate NQF accredited institutions to run accredited interventions
  • Implement learnership programs Level 1 – Level 5 NQF

 

Grant Applications

  • Manage effective claiming of mandatory and discretionary grants
  • Compile and Submit Workplace Skills Plan to MERSETA
  • Compile and Submit Annual Training Report to MERSETA
  • Update employee profile for grant application
  • Updating leaner management system
  • Loading of new graduates on the MERSETA website as well as termination once the program has come to an end
  • Application of workplace approval
  • Application of mentorship
  • Ensure learnership data is maintained on the merSETA website
  • Keep up to date on the trenches for each approved grant 
  • Ensure recruitment of graduate or learners is in line with the approved MERSETA MOA
  •  Ensure maximum return on grant payments.
  • Compile Training and Development Budget.
  • Versatility Matrix

  • Review and update the SPM’s regularly to be in line with the business changes
  • Ensure, revision dates & sign off on the QMS system has been updated via quality requirements. 
  • Regularly update the competency sheets for production process changes.
  • Update the versatility Matrix quarterly via the supervisor’s assistance
  • The VM’s needs to be updated on the system, production board as well as on file
  • Update the QMS system and sign off with quality, maintain records on file
  •  

    Bursary and Study Assistance (Employees and their dependents)

  • Initiate Bursary and Study Assistance programs for employees
  • Provide career counselling to employees wishing to embark on programs which will contribute to their current position and development
  • Liaise closely with Tertiary Institutions on registration, tuition fees and results of bursary and study assistance holders
  • Reconcile student accounts and ensure payment is made timeously
  • Recruit and interview for internal learning and development opportunities
  • Keep record of investments for BBBEE audit purposes.

    Finance

  • Purchase Orders for Training – ensuring all purchase orders are raised in accordance with the Tenneco purchasing policies
  • Follow up and send PO numbers to the training providers
  • Sign off and process invoices for payment
  • File invoices correctly with proof of payments
  •  

    Employment Equity

  • Compile and maintain the Skills Development Data as required in the Employment Equity format.
  • Update the Employment Equity/Training Committee at meetings to ensue matters for consultation are addressed.
  • Maintain a file of evidence for DOL inspections on progress within organization.
  • Sit on committee and actively participate in the drafting and implementation of the Skills Development Plan.
  • BBBEE – responsible for Skills Development component – preparation and submission of relevant audit documentation on skills development components for verification process.
