Internal Job Description:
Develop new Commercial Trucking and Off Highway (CTOH) business opportunities and manage current CTOH business issues. Act as liaison between customers and Tenneco Engineering, Manufacturing and Finance teams. Gather information on customer new engine programs and engine build rates and advise the Sales and Application Engineering departments. Participate in RFQ process. Gather regular information relevant to prices and supply agreements, initiate cost calculations at the manufacturing plants and support the Sales Department in providing proposals for pricing and contracts, both for new and existing business. Use knowledge of competitors’ prices and pricing strategies to prepare quotes. Prepare, submit and follow up on quotations to customers. Negotiate or assist in negotiating high-level contracts and supply agreements with customers. Work across all functional groups of the company and other Tenneco locations worldwide to deliver service to key accounts. Visit customers on regular basis and maintain relationships. Support resolution of delivery problems and other critical customer issues. Support the Sales Department and Application Engineering Department in the development of specific sales strategies for customers, projects and parts. Contribute to annual sales plans, strategic plans, forecasts and budgets. Identify and propose new business opportunities. Work with Applications Engineering and Operations to identify cost reduction opportunities. Provide customer reports and internal meeting minutes. Deliver reports on new business awards, wins and losses, new business opportunities, threats, pricing, and cost issues. Review sales plans, forecasts, and status of customer programs. Report variances and initiate or propose corrective action. Support manufacturing locations decisions (MLD). Support new acquisitions and joint venture activities of the company as may be requested by management.
This role will be in-person and based in Plymouth, Michigan.
