'- Engineering coops in APD (Advanced Process Development) work under the direction of our FT manufacturing engineers to set up and conduct experiments on emerging new technology projects APD is investigating. 

- Designing, programming, building and testing proof of concept and prototype equipment is the core function of the coop engineer.

- Executing experiments, presenting conclusions, solving problems and refining processes to reach desired outcomes defines the work.

- Typical processes involve: laser welding, resistance welding, high speed automatic assembly, di-electric testing, vision systems, non-destructive testing (X-ray & CT), metal cold forming, MIM (metal injection molding), machining, ceramic processing and additive manufacturing,

'- Creative problem solving, especially a willingness to be hands-on in trying different alternative solutions

- Ability to work well within a diverse team with varying skill levels and backgrounds

- Desired software skills are: Microsoft Office tools, CAD (especially Creo and AutoCAD), C# or C++ and MatLAB

- Organize and analyze experimental data into clear presentations to communicate conclusions
