Want to be a part of Team Tenneco? If so, we’re looking for a Human Resources Co-op to join our Plymouth Technical Center team!
The Human Resources Co-op will play a crucial role supporting with day-to-day workflow and ongoing projects for Powertrain HR at the Plymouth Technical Center.
This role will be in-person and based in Plymouth, Michigan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data Accuracy and Compliance: Maintain and update employee data and files with precision, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Payroll Processing: Handle payroll changes and special payments for employees.
- Immigration Case Management: Support the management and tracking of business unit immigration cases.
- Full-Cycle Recruiting: Administer the recruitment process, from reviewing resumes and screening potential candidates to scheduling interviews, preparing offer packages and onboarding new hires/ internal transfers.
- Employee Off-boarding: Assist with the off-boarding process for departing employees, ensuring a seamless transition and compliance with legal regulations.
- Support for Special HR Projects: Contribute to various special projects aligned with organizational needs, including planning and executing engaging employee events and activities.
- Building Communications: Create and distribute building communications to ensure employees stay informed and engaged. This includes weekly emails, updates on electronic boards, and social media content.
Qualifications:

- Educational: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Labor Relations, Business Administration, Employment Law, or related fields.
- Experience: Previous intern or co-op experience is a plus.
- Customer Service: A strong dedication to providing excellent customer service.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Deadline-Oriented: Capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
