Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Voice of the Customer: You translate customer needs into Tenneco’s planning capabilities worldwide, oversee global customer scorecards, and embed responsiveness into the operating model.
  2. Global Demand Leader: You set the standard for forecasting, S&OP/S&OE, production scheduling, and WIP/FG inventory logic, ensuring clarity and consistency for our ~130 Powertrain, CleanAir, and Ignition Champion plants.
  3. Pull System & Lean Champion: You design and deploy flow-based planning models from demand sensing to shop floor scheduling, enabling lean execution and mindset.
  4. Data-Driven Systems Thinker: You turn complex datasets into actionable insights, driving alignment of master data, forecast accuracy, and plan stability.
  5. Globally Fluent Process Standardizer: You codify global routines, elevate local practices, and thrive in multicultural environments to scale adoption across regions.
  6. Regional Demand Planning Teams: You provide playbooks, tools, and coaching to enable flawless daily execution. You partner to elevate planning maturity and troubleshoot systemic breakdowns.
  7. Commercial and Customer Service Teams: You synchronize demand and supply. You align on priorities, support forecast collaboration, and co-own the service promise.
  8. Operations and Supply Planning: You create the bridge between sales expectations and manufacturing execution. You will shape production scheduling logic, takt definitions, and WIP standards that drive production flow. You align demand plans with production scheduling, inventory policies, and supply capacity.
  9. Global Functions: You influence and align digital, procurement, finance, and logistics functions on what it takes to enable a world-class customer planning model.
  10. Global Planning Standardization: You will deploy a globally consistent demand planning operating model, integrating S&OE, production planning, and scheduling, while allowing regional flexibility where needed.

Minimum Requirements

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or operations; Master’s preferred (MBA ideal).

Skills

  • Global Demand Planning Leadership: Strong track record leading multi-regional forecasting, S&OP/S&OE, and scheduling processes with measurable business impact.
  • Executive Influence: Proven ability to engage and influence Regional Presidents, Operations VPs, and C-level leaders on demand, capacity, and customer commitments.
  • Process Standardization: Experience designing and deploying global planning standards, codifying best practices, and ensuring governance of forecast accuracy, adherence, and plan stability.
  • Lean Flow Execution: Skilled in embedding pull systems, heijunka, and WIP/FG inventory logic to enable lean shop floor execution.
  • Data & Analytics Mastery: Ability to turn complex, fragmented datasets into actionable insights, driving improved forecasting, inventory optimization, and service performance.
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement Expertise: Strong understanding of Lean principles applied to demand planning; Six Sigma and APICS CPIM/CSCP certifications highly valued.
  • Digital & Advanced Planning Tools: Proficiency in APS, ERP, and BI systems; experience with AI/ML forecasting and demand sensing is a strong plus.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to link planning decisions to P&L, working capital, and cost-to-serve outcomes.
  • Languages: Fluent English. Additional languages, such as Spanish, German, Chinese, Hindi, Portuguese, or Polish, are highly valued.
  • Executive Communication: Strong presence with the ability to clearly articulate complex planning scenarios to senior executives and boards.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead leaders, build high-performing global teams, and scale standardized planning processes across regions.
  • Leadership Development: Demonstrated success in coaching senior planning leaders and building succession depth across regions.
