Job Purpose
Maintenance Manager will lead the Maintenance department and ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant equipment, utilities, and facilities. The role is responsible for preventive maintenance, breakdown management, spare parts control, maintenance planning, team capability development, and continuous improvement of equipment performance to support plant production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the complete Maintenance function for the plant
- Ensure high equipment availability and minimum downtime across all production lines
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance systems
- Drive fast and disciplined breakdown analysis, response, and closure
- Plan maintenance manpower, shifts, and work allocation effectively
- Monitor and control maintenance cost, spare consumption, and budget adherence
- Ensure critical spare parts availability and inventory optimization
- Improve machine reliability, MTBF, MTTR, and overall maintenance performance
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, SCM, and Engineering teams for smooth plant operations
- Support installation, commissioning, and stabilization of new equipment and improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with all safety, statutory, and environmental requirements related to maintenance activities
- Build capability of maintenance engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contract manpower
- Drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for repetitive failures
- Maintain maintenance documentation, checklists, SOPs, history cards, and records properly
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance systems, utilities, and energy efficiency

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics / related field
- Relevant experience in plant maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, utilities, and reliability systems
- Experience in handling maintenance teams, contractors, and cross-functional coordination
- Good understanding of TPM, PM systems, RCA, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices
- Familiarity with SAP / CMMS or other maintenance management systems is preferred
