The Process Engineer will manage projects involving manufacturing process and packaging system and assume additional projects as needed to support the Operations and Engineering teams.  The person will be responsible for developing, maintain project scope, budget, timelines, ricks, and success criteria to meet given objectives and projects.  This person will provide engineering support to the manufacturing processes and will design, install, and maintain production processes to fulfill customer requirements. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Accountable for managing large scale capital investment projects ($1 - $10MM), providing leadership during concept/design stage, implementation and start-up phases are executed at highest level of efficiency, quality, and employee safety. Projects include growth investments, productivity, and infrastructure projects.2.
  •  Identifies the capital and capital related expenses, optimum layout, equipment and phasing over time to meet the project scope objectives.
  • Identifies cost effective, high savings productivity solutions and develops project in order to improve performance, product quality, safety and sustainability, yield, and manufacturing cycle times.
  • Responsible for all site/cluster capital investment initiatives and as such for achieving the plants including safety, service, cash flow, productivity, and growth targets.
  • Lead technical assessments, capability studies and capital execution for new product launches and modification in cooperation with key partners namely Business Development, Research and Development, Procurement.
  • Basic understanding and utilization of lean and six sigma methodologies.
  • Develop, document, and lead project objectives, scope, project proposal, plans, and teams.
  • Reviews contractor bids; interviews and assigns personnel to specific phases and elements of the project. Is responsible for the capital and expense spending execution against the budgeted amounts for individual projects.
  • Comply with engineering standards exist for electrical, mechanical, controls, and drawing files.
  • Act as a team contributor with inter-departmental needs when new equipment/processes are introduced to ensure proper training, technical information, and process improvements are met.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment documentation exists in the form of manuals, drawings, machine code and ladder logic diagrams. Standards exist for the filing and content of these key documents.
  • Seeks new and innovative ways to streamline the manufacturing plant and to implement and track improvements. Recommends specifies equipment, materials, or processes.

 

EDUCATION: Minimum of 4 year B.S. degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or related field preferred;

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in project engineering and project management in a production facility.
  • Experience in packaging and aftermarket automotive environment is a plus.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook calendar and email management, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and maintenance requirements to meet personnel safety, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), MS Project,Auto CAD, and or Solidworks.
  • Fundamental background with Robotics, PLC's and process control.
  • Familiar with basics of finance, product cost accounting, and statistical process control.
  • Working understanding of Lockout-Tagout, Confined Space, Excavations, Arc Flash, Working with live electric, Rigging, Line Breaking, JSA's
