ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for the organization’s manufacturing and/or production operations including Production, Manufacturing engineering, Maintenance and Product quality with complying to Tenneco and ISO9001 standards in operations and for achieving productivity, OEE, quality targets.
Sets production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, staffing resources, and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the manufacturing operation to support engineering aspects with assist plant manager and directs Process engineering, Quality engineering and Production.
- Manage the manufacturing process efficiently to built high quality manufactured products to meet with customer specification.
- Core member for process flow planning and resource requirements for new products.
- Core member for planning resources including equipment / tooling / part presentation / material handling including in process and finished goods for new products.
- Core member for equipment and tooling specifications for new products.
- Core member for equipment / supplier selection for equipment and tooling, release of purchase orders for new equipment / tooling.
- Complete costing sheet that include capital requirement for equipment and tooling, material handling, labor after completing the cycle time requirements of each process steps as required.
- Process owner and responsible for process flow, process FMEA, tool design reviews, equipment specifications
- Ensure that the equipment and tooling are built to Tenneco Machine Safety Standards.
- Champion for process related Continuous improvement / Lean / Kaizen activities.
- Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Provide technical and quality assistance and training to each function engineers and supervisors.
- Responsible for up-keeping of equipment – planning and executing predictive / preventive maintenance schedules, maintenance of spare parts, training of maintenance personnel.
- Responsible for supplier quality and coordination with suppliers and PPAP.
- Responsible for implementing quality procedures on shop floor and executing data collection and adherence to procedures.
- Responsible for quality of final product and achieving quality targets with suppliers, in-house and at customer.
- Responsible for meeting productivity targets and key metrics of operations that includes safety, quality (both internal and external), scrap, rework, cost of production, labor efficiencies, resources, WIP, safety stocks and so on.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or above.
- Ability to read and understand drawing, GD&T, sections, tolerances.
- Experience in dealing with suppliers for components, tooling and consumables.
- Ability to review and guide tooling design, Process designs
- Must be from a mass production automotive industry and handles production, maintenance in a TS or ISO 9001 environment.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in supervising and coordinating shop floor activities.
- Experience in dealing with stamped parts and welding processes.
- TS16949 / ISO9001 application to the facility and process
- Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese (Business level English)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including travel and attending conference calls at night.
