Vave and Indirect Material Buyer
Location: Northville, MI
- Coordinate sourcing and vendor management needs with Tenneco NVH Purchasing team.
- Coordinate VaVe workshops (internal and external).
- Responsible of the reporting and follow up of the Indirect Purchasing Budget for NVH.
- Coordinate interaction between the MRO teams in the plants and the Indirect Purchasing team.
- Develop and implement comprehensive commodity sourcing strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
- Identify best in class sources, processes, and solutions.
- Place purchase orders with suppliers and performs proper follow up and confirmation
- Resolve match exceptions in a timely manner
- Recommend process improvements and develops continuous improvement tools
- Maintain required KPIs (material cost reduction, payment terms, contracts/T&Cs, supplier rationalization, localization, etc.) and manage vendors and vendor relationships to ensure on-time delivery, fill rate, and quality expectations.
- Lead problem-solving and performance improvement efforts with vendors in areas of delivery, quality, and cost; manage supplier issues to resolution.
- Prepare required data and or documents for supplier meetings or negotiations.
- Prepare financial analysis of RFQ results and communicate optimal options to stake holders.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production, to ensure that sourcing decisions meet technical and quality requirements.
- Monitor market trends, global supply chain dynamics, and geopolitical factors affecting the automotive industry to proactively manage risks and opportunities.
- Conduct periodic business reviews with vendors to address open issues and opportunities.
- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain or Engineering required.
Qualifications:
- SAP knowledge
- Experience in cost analysis
- Self-Management, Self-Motivated
- Strong communication skills with internal and external counterparts, also in an international context
