We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Accounting Team. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for performing the daily operations of the corporate functions accounting department, including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. This role requires a meticulous individual with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to operate independently.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and prepare journal entries including, but not limited to: accruals, prepaids, fixed assets other general ledger, and intercompany transactions.
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Address and support Tenneco’s external auditor requests.
  • Adhere to Tenneco’s accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls. Proactively address any potential gaps and maintain strong control environment around the assigned areas.
  • Analyze financial data and create reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain inter-departmental relationships at a caliber to promote confidence, integrity, and cooperation.

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. CPA is highly preferred.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in Corporate Accounting area (e.g., SG&A, IT Accounting, Accounting for Employee Benefits)
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with accounting software and financial management systems (e.g., SAP, OneStream).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
