Sr Category Manager, Energy
Scope:
The Sr. Category Manager, Energy will manage the full scope of Utilities (Electricity & gas), Green energy, and De-carbonization projects in the Americas region. This individual will design and implement strategies for off-site PPA contracts in the Americas in compliance with Tenneco targets and De-carbonization road map. The Sr. Category Manager, Energy will support deployment of Tenneco’s De-carbonization road map.
- Identify opportunities for On-site PV’s installations at Tenneco manufacturing locations to maximize use of green energy.
- Define and lead on-site PV supplier’s strategy, incl. negotiations and proposal on best business model to internal stakeholders.
- Working with cross-functional teams including Plant managers, EHS, Legal, Real estate, Finance, and others.
- Track and communicate project progress to Stakeholders.
- Manage portfolio of Utilities (Electricity & Gas) in the Americas while working with external consultants on country specific contracts and hedging strategies ensuring best cost for Tenneco
- Help to drive corporate indirect procurement and profit improvement, while delivering the following to the business:
- Category Planning:
- Work with corporate team, business units, and regional stakeholders to prioritize an evolving portfolio of high-value process improvement and sourcing initiatives.
- Sourcing and Contracting:
- Drive sourcing projects emerging from category planning.
- Define goals, including roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.
- Incorporate business requirements into sourcing plans and RFP strategies.
- Manage the planning and launch of RFx events, leveraging eSourcing tools as appropriate.
- Coordinate and lead negotiations; help stakeholders understand trade‐offs and benefits of negotiation strategies/outcomes.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge in management of Utilities, De-carbonization, and Energy sustainability projects in large complex multinational companies.
- Deep understanding of different types of off-site PPA modules, contract types, trends & best practice.
- Experience with implementation of On-site PV’s projects.
- Proven background working with & coordinating photovoltaics’ providers and cross functional internal teams in different countries.
- Experience leading energy procurement in manufacturing operations.
- Working with Utilities consulting companies of advantage.
- Experience contributing to business-critical decisions related to PV and PPA contract modules.
Skill Requirements:
- Contract management including ability to manage several projects in different countries.
- Able to develop network of support from various department and countries.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand and simplify complex data and reports.
- Understanding business ethics and code of conduct.
- Engineering and Construction background of advantage
Ability to travel: 50%
