The Learning and Development Program Manager will oversee the design, development, and implementation of learning programs to enhance employee skills and organizational success. This role collaborates with leadership to identify learning needs, leverages modern learning technologies (e.g., LMS, e-learning platforms), and ensures learning and training aligns with business goals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and learning program management.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Design and Management: Design and manage enterprise-wide, functional, regional, ect. learning programs, including leadership development, onboarding, and technical skill development, creating engaging learning materials, performance support resources, job aids, etc., evaluating learning or training programs to determine their effectiveness.
- Needs Analysis: Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify skill gaps and align learning initiatives with Tenneco’s strategic goals.
- Content Development: Lead the creation and continuous improvement of learning and training materials, incorporating stakeholder feedback to ensure relevance and engagement, using tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise, Vyond and more.
- Technology Integration: Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and emerging technologies, such as AI-powered learning and virtual reality training, to enhance learning experiences across Tenneco’s global workforce.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide L&D specialists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including HR, SME’s, and business unit leaders, to ensure learning programs align with organizational priorities and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field.
- Experience:
- Experience as an Instructional Designer, with a proven track record of developing sound instructional materials.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices.
- Experience in the Talent Management and the automotive industry preferable.
- Minimum of 5 years in learning and development, with at least 2 years in a program management or leadership capacity.
- Skills
- Advanced expertise in instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Articulate Storyline/Rise, Vyond, and LMS platforms.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to bring learning programs from concept to implementation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Innovative and creative thinking, with a focus on developing engaging, interactive learning solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Familiarity and keeping abreast with emerging L&D technologies and trends to drive innovation.
