Want to be a part of Team Tenneco? If so, we’re looking for a Graphic Design Intern to join our Corporate Communications team!
As part of a global communications team, you’ll be instrumental in telling the Tenneco story, driving employee engagement, and amplifying Team Tenneco’s achievements through various design projects and initiatives. You’ll be part of a team that will take our communications strategy to the next level at an unparalleled pace.
This role will be in-person and primarily based in Northville, Michigan. A minimum of 20 hours / week will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As part of a global communication team, you will have to roll up your sleeves to:
- Collaborate with the graphic designer to create materials for internal corporate communications, including event flyers, social media graphics, and PowerPoint decks
- Assist in the design and production of promotional materials for various functions and initiatives
- Support design team in managing project timelines and deliverables
- Engage in constructive feedback sessions and learn how to refine design skills and techniques
- Work on building a professional portfolio and resume with mentorship from the graphic designer
Qualifications
- Is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (junior or senior level preferred)
- Can provide a portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including any relevant coursework or personal projects
Skills
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and has familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint)
- Has strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory
- Has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
