Job Title: Executive Director, Commercial Finance  

Location: Northville, Michigan

products for original equipment and aftermarket customers. Through our DRiV, Performance

Solutions, Clean Air and Powertrain business groups, Tenneco is driving advancements in

global mobility by delivering technology solutions for light vehicle, commercial truck, offhighway, industrial, motorsport and the aftermarket.

 

This position is responsible for leading the company’s commercial planning and analytics around commercial performance, as well as stand up a Quarterly Market Index (QMI) for assessing the impact from geopolitical events, customer/OEM performance, and more to inform both organic and inorganic strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial analytics and financial analysis, along with a strategic mindset to help drive the company’s long-term commercial excellence. The position may be based in Northville, Michigan and reports directly to the Vice President, Financial Planning and Strategy of the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to analyze and optimize the company’s commercial performance, providing analysis backed views of win rate, market share, and competitive performance
  • Conduct comprehensive commercial modeling, scenario analysis, and forecasting to guide strategic decision-making around organic growth, inorganic investments (e.g., M&A activity)
  • Coordinate and stand up a Quarterly Market Index (QMI) process to actively manage commercial performance with individual BUs, scan the market for M&A opportunities, and provide advance knowledge of factors affecting volume/revenue (e.g., geopolitical shifts)
  • Develop strategies to manage and maintain commercial and volume levels, ensuring that the company can meet its operational and financial obligations while leveraging plant capacity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate commercial planning with the broader corporate financial strategy,
  • Prepare regular reports for the CEO, CFO, and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) around commercial excellence performance and provide insights and recommendations based on commercial analysis to support decision-making
  • Assist with the development and presentation of the company’s commercial strategy and performance
  • Mentor and develop commercial and finance team members to build technical expertise and leadership capabilities

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in finance or other related field.

Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in management consulting within a strategy environment and/or commercial or sales experience within automotive or industrial sectors; commercial automotive experience a plus

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of performance management, financial modeling, and analytics towards strategic decision making; commercial/sales experience a plus
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior executives, investors, and external partners
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
