Job Title: Director of Treasury
Location: Northville, MI

The Director, Treasury – North America leads regional treasury strategy and execution across the United States, Canada, and Mexico while providing FP&A oversight on cash, cash generation, and capital efficiency. This role owns NA liquidity planning, cash forecasting, bank relationships, funding execution, treasury controls, and working capital optimization, and translates operational and commercial drivers into actionable outlooks for leadership. The Director serves as a key advisor to the NA CFO/Finance leadership and Global Treasury on liquidity, risk, and performance.
The position may be based in MI and reports directly to the Executive Director, Treasury of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Own NA liquidity strategy and governance: daily cash positioning oversight, liquidity buffers, contingency planning, and escalation protocols.
- Lead NA cash forecasting (daily/weekly/13-week) and variance analysis; drive improvements in forecast accuracy and transparency by entity and currency (USD/CAD/MXN).
- Oversee regional funding activities in coordination with Global Treasury: revolver draws/repayments, intercompany funding, cross-border cash movements, and support for LCs/guarantees as required.
- Lead NA working capital program in partnership with Procurement, Supply Chain, AR/AP, and plant finance: DPO/DSO, inventory turns, supplier/customer terms, and process improvements.
- Evaluate and support working capital tools/programs (e.g., supply chain finance, dynamic discounting) where appropriate.
- Establish targets, track initiatives, and ensure benefits flow through to cash and forecast.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures in day-to-day conduct and supervision of cash management activities.
- Handle daily cash actions, intercompany funding, trade finance instrument, cash investment, FX trading and cash collection processes to support efficient operations across European boarders
- Own NA Kyriba operating model: cash positioning structure, forecast modules, bank connectivity, payment workflows, and controls configuration.
- Drive standardization of payment processes across NA (including plants and shared services) and improve straight-through processing (STP).
- Maintain treasury policies, procedures, and desk manuals; ensure data integrity and governance across SAP and Kyriba.
- Collaborate with other departments to support company-wide finance initiatives and projects.
- Manage local banking relationships and negotiate bank and service fees for EMEA region
- Play a key role in strategic planning and financial analysis.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CTP, CFA) preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience in a treasury leadership role, preferably within a similar industry.
- Exposure to various working capital management tools & instruments like, letter of credits, short-term financing, factoring, etc.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, banking regulations, and complex financial management.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing treasury operations strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- 10 years of Treasury experience for multinational company
Skills
- Proficiency in treasury management systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in international treasury operations and currency risk management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
