The Director of Non-SAP ERP & EDI/EI Application Services is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational management of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Enterprise Integrations (EI), QAD, Plex and other non-SAP ERP systems across the organization. This individual will lead a global team of EDI, EI and non-SAP ERP professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality application support and solutions that align with business objectives. The role encompasses governance of managed services, providing application expertise for projects, developing solution architectures, conducting business analysis, managing licenses, overseeing change management, and preparing for ITGC controls audits.

 

The Director will leverage their extensive knowledge of EDI, EI and ERP systems to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the application landscape. They will also leverage their extensive experience with global OEM EDI systems and their deep understanding of the automotive industry’s unique requirements to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the EI and EDI landscape. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of business processes and IT governance.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of EDI, EI and ERP professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
    • Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide ongoing feedback and support to team members.
    • Promote professional development and continuous learning within the team.
  • ERP Application Expertise:
    • Serve as the primary escalation point of contact for non-SAP ERP application-related inquiries and issues.
    • Ensure the team provides expert-level support and solutions for QAD and Plex ERP systems.
    • Stay updated with the latest developments and best practices in QAD and Plex ERP systems.
  • Enterprise Integration (EI) Expertise:
    • Oversee the integration of enterprise systems to ensure seamless data flow and process efficiency within the automotive supply chain.
    • Provide strategic direction and technical expertise for EI initiatives.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in enterprise integration, particularly within the automotive industry.
  • EDI Management:
    • Manage and optimize EDI processes to ensure efficient and accurate data exchange with global OEMs and other automotive partners.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for EDI.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues promptly.
  • Ownership of EI and EDI Functions:
    • Own and manage the EI and EDI functions across the enterprise, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Develop and maintain robust solution architectures that support and enhance business processes.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits of EI and EDI systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Governance & Managed Services:
    • Oversee the governance framework for managed services, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors, help with contract negotiation, and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal performance.
    • Implement and maintain governance processes to ensure the integrity and security of ERP systems.
  • Project Management & Solution Architecture:
    • Provide strategic direction and application expertise for EDI/EI, ERP-related projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Develop and maintain robust solution architectures that support and enhance business processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement ERP solutions that drive business value.
  • Business Analysis & Change Management:
    • Conduct thorough business analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and ERP enhancements.
    • Lead change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption of new ERP functionalities.
    • Develop and execute change management plans, including communication, training, and support strategies.
  • License Management:
    • Oversee the management of EDI/EI, ERP licenses, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and optimizing license usage to control costs.
    • Conduct regular audits of ERP licenses to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • ITGC Controls & Audit Preparation:
    • Prepare and maintain IT General Controls (ITGC) to ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
    • Collaborate with audit teams to address any findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Education: (EDUCATION REQUIREMENT)

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

 

Experience: (# OF YEARS EXPERIENCE)

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in EDI, EI and non-SAP ERP application services.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing global teams.
  • Strong familiarity with global OEM EDI systems and automotive industry standards.
