ABOUT THE ROLE

P3 is Tenneco’s standard way of operating across all functions and across the globe. The OS&CI Intern supports the P3 team by learning and applying core continuous improvement capabilities that drive plant performance, operational stability, and sustainable results.

 

This internship is hands‑on and field‑focused, centered on learning how Tenneco deploys Tiger Teams to turn around underperforming plants, executes Operational System (OS) Jump Starts focused on 5S and OS items, and builds foundational P3 capabilities at the plant level. The intern will partner closely with P3 leaders, plant teams, and business unit stakeholders to support improvement initiatives and help accelerate plant turnaround efforts.

 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn the Tiger Team model and support identification of a real improvement opportunity within a plant or operation to help drive performance turnaround.
  • Participate in 5S and OS Jump Start activities, gaining exposure to how P3 standards are rapidly deployed to stabilize and improve plant operations.
  • Assist P3 leaders with capability building activities, including preparation of materials, tracking progress, and documenting lessons learned.
  • Observe and support plant‑level problem solving, standard work development, and continuous improvement events.
  • Help capture best practices, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen P3 deployment and OS&CI effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional and global teams while learning Tenneco’s operating system and OS&CI ways of working.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Analytics, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel to Tenneco plant locations (travel will be focused on US based sites)
  • Strong interest in continuous improvement, operations excellence, and plant‑level execution.
  • Willingness to learn on the shop floor, engage with plant teams, and work in hands‑on operational environments.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and maintain time.
  • Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and a bias for action.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort working with diverse teams and leaders globally.
  • Self‑starter mindset with the ability to learn quickly and adapt in a structured, fast‑moving environment.
