In this position you’ll help tell the Tenneco story, drive employee engagement, and spotlight Team Tenneco’s achievements through bold design and creative initiatives. The position may be based in Northville, Michigan and reports directly to the Corporate Communications Lead of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and refine social media strategies across external (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X) and internal (Workvivo) platforms, highlighting our brand, leadership, employees, and accomplishments
- Create, write, and publish engaging content that reflects the Tenneco brand voice, in alignment with global corporate communication content calendar
- Stay on top of trends, hashtags, and real-time moments to join conversations authentically
- Engage daily with the internal and external social communities—respond to DMs, comments, and questions; transform audience insights into actionable strategies
- Track performance and KPIs, analyze results, and use data to continuously optimize social media efforts, in partnership with Communications Leads
- Partner with cross-functional teams to amplify company milestones and culture across both internal and external social channels
- Support global programs such as our internal employee recognition program and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) through thoughtful communication strategies
- Collaborate with Corporate Communications Leads and creative team to bring innovative, bold ideas to life
Minimum Requirements
Education: A bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing or related field
Experience: 3+ years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
Skills
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content scheduling tools, Canva and analytics
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and global environment
- A creative mindset with a sharp eye for visuals, trends, and building positive employee experiences
- Proactive, organized, and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
- Experience with internal communication platforms like Workvivo or similar
- Graphic design, video editing, or multimedia storytelling skills (Adobe or Canva)
- Global or cross-cultural communication experience
