Communications Intern

 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a creative, curious, and motivated Communications Intern to support external communications content development across social media, website, partnerships, and other digital channels. This role is ideal for a strong writer and natural storyteller who brings fresh ideas, understands how to shape engaging content for diverse audiences, and is eager to learn in a fast-paced communications environment.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft compelling copy for external communications channels, including social media posts, website content, campaign materials, and other storytelling needs.
  • Support social media content generation by developing post concepts, captions, short-form copy, and engagement-driven ideas tailored to each platform.
  • Help identify and shape stories that highlight the company’s people, partnerships, products, culture, and business priorities.
  • Collaborate with communications and cross-functional teams to gather information, refine messaging, and bring content ideas to life.
  • Contribute creative ideas for campaigns, content series, visual storytelling, and new ways to engage external audiences.
  • Assist with editing, proofreading, and formatting content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voice.
  • Monitor external channels, industry trends, and social media best practices to help inform content recommendations.
  • Provide support for partnership communications, website updates, executive visibility moments, events, and other external-facing initiatives as needed.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English, digital media, or a related field.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and creatively.
  • Experience creating social media content for platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, or similar channels.
  • Experience with video editing and creating video-first assets for digital platforms.
  • An innate storyteller with a passion for finding, shaping, and sharing meaningful stories.
  • Creative thinker who brings ideas, asks thoughtful questions, and is willing to experiment with new content formats.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt writing style for different audiences, platforms, and objectives.
  • Eagerness to learn, receive feedback, and grow in a corporate communications environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Portfolio of writing samples, social media content, creative work, or related communications materials required.

 

 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Basic understanding of social media strategy, content calendars, analytics, and platform best practices.
  • Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Interest in corporate storytelling, brand communications, media, digital marketing, or public relations.
  • Comfort working with visual content, creative briefs, and multimedia storytelling concepts.
