Want to be a part of Team Tenneco? If so, we’re looking for a Communications Intern to join our Global Communications team!
As part of a global communications team, you’ll be instrumental in telling the Tenneco story, driving employee engagement, and amplifying Team Tenneco’s achievements through various design projects and initiatives. You’ll be part of a team that will take our communications strategy to the next level at an unparalleled pace.
This role will be in-person and primarily based in Northville, Michigan. A minimum of 20 hours / week will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As part of a global communication team, you will have to roll up your sleeves to:
- Help develop copy for external and internal social media channels, ensuring alignment with our brand voice and communication goals
- Assist with content planning and scheduling to keep our internal and external platforms updated and engaging
- Support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) by assisting with communication plans, messaging strategies, and promotional materials
- Contribute creative ideas for enhancing employee communications and engagement
- Support employee storytelling efforts, including writing employee spotlights and gathering user-generated content
- Assist with communication for internal employee recognition program, including promotional messaging, nominee spotlights, and internal engagement strategies
- Provide general team support (proofreading, brainstorming, and event planning)
Qualifications
At Tenneco, it’s not just about experience; it’s about mindset, and we’re looking for someone who:
- Is currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (or are a recent graduate)
- Familiarity with design tools (Canva, Adobe) or internal communication tools is a bonus, but not required.
Skills
- Has strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
- Has experience with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) and a basic understanding of best practices
- Can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Thinks creatively, brings a proactive attitude and enjoys collaboration
- A desire to learn and develop as part of a creative, collaborative Communication Team
- Familiarity with design tools (Canva, Adobe) or internal communication tools is a bonus, but not required.
