ABOUT THE ROLE
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that support customer demand, inventory objectives, and operational efficiency. This position coordinates material requirements, production planning, inventory management, and cross-functional communication to ensure on-time delivery and optimal manufacturing performance. The Master Scheduler serves as a key link between customer demand, procurement, production, and logistics functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) to support customer requirements and plant capacity.
- Review forecasts, customer demand, production schedules, and material requirements on a regular basis.
- Analyze inventory levels and product demand to establish reorder points, safety stock levels, and inventory strategies.
- Coordinate material planning activities to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
- Monitor MRP outputs and take appropriate actions to address planning exceptions and material shortages.
- Partner with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to meet delivery objectives.
- Support new product introductions by coordinating material requirements, BOM reviews, and implementation schedules.
- Investigate production schedule deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory performance across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within planning and scheduling processes.
- Evaluate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to minimize production disruptions.
- Ensure production schedules align with manpower, equipment capacity, and customer requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field; or APICS Certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- SAP experience preferred or required.
- Knowledge of Kanban and lean manufacturing systems preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
