Job Description:

Manage the Human Resource departmental functions to attain the organization’s goals. Responsible for managing recruitment, human resource development, communications, wages and benefits, safety and environmental support, workers compensation, training and employee involvement facilitation. Have a demonstrated ability and is highly effective in creating a vision that supports positive team member relations environment.

 

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as a business partner to provide direction, coaching and counseling to managers, and employees on HR related issues in support and alignment with the HR strategic initiatives and processes.
  • Lead the talent acquisition initiatives for the location, which includes recruiting and screening of applicants, facilitating the use of any temporary employment agencies and managing the job posting system for internal/external candidates in accordance with company and legal guidelines.
  • Manage business relationships and serve as an expert resource in strategic and tactical approaches to HR management in areas including employee relations, employee development, policy and procedure development, and performance evaluation.
  • Serve as an expert and trusted resource on all federal, state and local laws and regulations and ensure all HR policies and practices are in compliance with specific legal requirements.
  • Maintain all personnel records in accordance with EEO, privacy, and related requirements. Advise management teams regarding prompt and accurate completion of all status changes and in assuring prompt and accurate updated information in the HRIS system.
  • Ensure effective communication with other departments to accomplish the goals and objectives of the overall business and the HR department.
  • Effectively support and foster the company's Open Door Policy
  • Lead employee-related investigations and serve as the primary liaison with corporate legal counsel.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly HR metrics reports, assessing trends and themes and making recommendations to HR Leadership team.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or assist in all training activities within the facility (i.e. safety compliance, orientation programs, job knowledge, and leadership performances).
  • Maintain relationships with the union, settle grievances at the plant level, serve as lead of union negotiations.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Solid recruiting experience/skills.
  • Experience in training and facilitation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal skills)
  • Manufacturing environment union experience required.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • A team player that is results driven, able to work under pressure, has strong leadership skills, high energy, strong organizational skills, is empathetic and able to deal with issues in an open, honest manner.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or requests from employees and management.
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees and management.
  • Strong understanding of HR legislative requirements/laws (State & Federal).
  • EHS knowledge required
