North America Snr. Sales Director – Monroe Ride Solutions

POSITION SUMMARY

The North America Sales Director for Monroe Ride Solutions (MRS) will lead the sales area of a regional business with an annual revenue of $295M.

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of named OEM accounts including developing and implementing growth plans and profitability and rationalization strategies for his/her respective book of business. This person will work with cross-functional teams of professionals at the customer and within Tenneco.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business disciplines or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Current Sales Director with a strong track record in driving outstanding results in the Automotive Industry
  • Global experience preferred but not mandatory, Europe, APAC and US experience at some point in career a must.
  • Background in friction materials and/or rubber products (materials and seals)
  • Ability to manage and lead a partially remote matrixed global team.
  • Experience in Sales Leadership position for a business of 425m USD+
  • High potential with the ability to develop further within the sales organization and/or possibility to develop into a GM position
  • Excellent business leadership skills

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defend Tenneco’s market-leading position across North America
  • Define and implement a regional commercial strategy across the 300m USD business.
  • Act as a key member of the North America MRS business unit management team.
  • Manage the entire regional direct and indirect salesforce and play a critical role on the leadership team.
  • Work with customers to identify Tenneco sales opportunities.
  • Travel to customer locations, plants, and supplier locations as necessary to develop and maintain customer relations short- and long-term sales/revenue planning.
  • Responsible for assigned book of business and budget planning.
  • Represent Tenneco on technical and commercial issues in line with business strategy.
  • Preparation of detailed quotes and negotiation of product, development and tooling costs including verification of price relevant data
  • Commercial quote presentation at customer purchasing organization.
  • Definition and acquisition of support for new projects
  • Work with manufacturing and engineering groups to successfully launch new programs.
  • Manage platform profitability and support cost optimization programs.
  • Drive resolution of customer quality and delivery issues and of past due accounts receivable issues
  • Manage customer cost reduction and materials programs to optimize our position in both short and long term.
  • Support the program manager in all commercial aspects of the program
